Histological Analysis
In a histological sample of muscle tissue belonging to an individual affected by Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, it’s possible to observe:
• Irregularity in the diameter of muscle fibers (atrophic fibers hypertrophic);
• Myopathic changes: the presence of internal and splitting nuclei;
• Degeneration and necrosis of the muscle fibers;
• Replacement of muscle tissue by connective / adipose tissue

We expect to observe this type of samples in control groups, where no treatment was applied.
After application of the proposed treatment, we expect to detect reversal behaviour of muscular necrosis, a decrease of infiltrating inflammatory cells and a decrease of fibrosis. We also expect to detect a larger amount of fluorescence in the sample, translated in an increase of Dystrophin.
